I pray you’ll join us and learn new and exciting things too from His Word.
This Week We're Looking at Faithful"If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." 2 Timothy 2:13
Does that Scripture bring you as much hope and encouragement as it does me?
I write from a stature of great grace and humility—with a whole lot of mercy thrown in. You see, I am a former bad girl. I trusted Jesus as my personal Savior as a young girl and stayed on the straight and narrow through my teens. I was married very young at the age of 17, to the love of my then life. We married one day after he came home from a year's tour of duty in Vietnam in the United States Air Force. Our marriage was good, solid even, and we welcomed three children into our lives within eight years. Life was good. God was faithful to me even in an unequally yoked marriage. But, one day my husband came home and told me what no wife ever wants to hear. That he had been having an affair and he thought he was in love with her. Devastation. Run as fast as you can!
I was so angry and hurt and I took it out on my Heavenly Father, even though He had been faithful to me all those years.
Psalm 31:23 says: "Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person." I was anything but faithful and I was acting rebelliously out of pride.
Proverbs 27:6 says: "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."
Oh! The enemy kissed me alright and convinced me I had every right to be angry at God. But, my friend, my dear Grandma on her (literal) death bed, inflicted wounds. Word wounds straight to my soul. She spoke truth. And, it was her truth that got me back on the right track. Faithful wounds!
Matthew 25:21 states: "His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’"
Because of my grandma's faithful wounds to my spirit—my life recovered and my feet were once again firmly planted on good soil! I became a good and faithful servant to my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
Luke 16:10 explains: "He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much."
You see this verse is my after and before! My feet were set in the right direction finally and I have never looked back. In the 1990's the Lord told me to write and encourage other believers—He plainly said, "Susan, you write and I'll take care of the rest." He has been oh so faithful to this charge.
God's very essence is Faithful—it is more a Name than an attribute. Even when we fail, even when we take a wrong turn, and become unfaithful—God remains the same because FAITHFUL is who He is.
What joy and blessing it is to be held by The One called Faithful!

Grateful every day to see Gods faith is constant and reliable. I also see Gods faith every day through kids. Gods greatest gift to the world. Thank you Susan. Beautifully written!

This post goes straight to my heart - When my boys were little, I gave them spiritual names God put on my heart - one was Perceiver of Truth, another Joy of the Lord, The Fire and Power of the Holy Spirit, Love (Our Human Resource Guy) - and Faithful. The boys questioned that name as they got older, "Faithful?" they'd ask in disbelief. Inside, I kind of had the same questions and asked God. I gave my boys the answer God gave me, "Because one day He's going to tell others about how God never abandoned nor forsook him, but remained faithful to him" - He is faithful - He never stops pursuing us! Your post warmed my heart!

Great read once again. Isn’t it wonderful that as sinners, God’s “Faithfulness” is always by our side even when we fall.
