Sweeter Than Honey: Steadfast Love and Faithfulness

5/31/2022

Psalm 100 is a short #psalm with a powerful, familiar message. You may recall #memorizing and reciting it around the time of #Thanksgiving when you were a child. The theme here is #God’s steadfast love and #faithfulness. It's something we need to be reminded of over and over, day after day, isn't it!? It’s something to ALWAYS be #thankful for! This psalm tells us to do 7 things because of His steadfast love & faithfulness to us. Let’s see if we can find all 7 and record them. #Biblestudy #faith
From the Old Testament to the New, the eternality of God's Word is clearly proclaimed:

Job tells us, “I have treasured the Words of His mouth more than my portion of food” (Job 23:12).

Isaiah reminds us that, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8).

And Matthew records Jesus saying, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

God's Word is like an eternal Love Letter to us!

Have you ever received a love letter, friend? Did you read it? Did you read it just once, or did you read it over and over again? A Love Letter is a treasure when you love the One who sent it!

2 Ways God Reveals Our Sin Through Parenting

5/27/2022

I'm a firm believer that God always gives believers His best. We are never missing out or overlooked because He never withholds good from us. Whatever season of life God brings is His best for us. Whether young or old, single or married, childless or parents, God is teaching us, growing us, and sanctifying us with His very best. In every season of life I see how He is increasing my faith and expose my heart to grow and change me. Each season builds on the last. #parenting #children #mom #family
I am a firm believer that God always gives every believer His best. We can always be assured that we are never missing out or overlooked because God never withholds good from us.

Whatever the stage and season of life God brings to us, it is His best for us. Whether young or old, single or married, childless or parents, God is teaching us, growing us, and sanctifying us with His very best.

In every season of my life so far, I can clearly see how He has used each one to increase my faith and expose my heart in order to grow me and change me.

Additionally, each season has built upon the other. Just when I think I may have discovered it all or figured it out, God shows me how much I have yet to learn.

Sweeter Than Honey: Tell of His Glorious Deeds

5/24/2022

In #Psalm 78, Asaph reminds us how important it is that we tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the #Lord. Why is it important? “…so that they should set their #hope in God and not forget the works of #God…” (78:7). I can’t express how important it is that we pass on to future generations, to our #children and our children’s children, what God has done in our lifetime and the “…things that we have heard and known, that our #fathers have told us” (78:3). #Biblestudy #devotional

Finding Stability in an Unstable World

5/20/2022

The world is rife with instability and struggles that seem to have no answers. #Jesus told us in John 16:33 that there would be times like this. “In the world ye shall have #tribulation…” The #goodnews is that we don’t have to be overcome with instability and trouble. The rest of that verse gives words of comfort. “…but be of good cheer; I have #overcome the world.” The question isn't IF there is darkness and trouble to deal with in this world. The question is HOW do we deal with this darkness?
The world today is rife with instability and struggles that seem to have no answers. Jesus told us in John 16:33 that there would be times like this.
“In the world ye shall have tribulation…”
The good news is that as believers we don’t have to be overcome with the instability, tribulation, and trouble in the world. The rest of that verse gives Jesus’ words of comfort.
“…but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
The question for us as believers is not IF there is darkness and trouble to deal with in this sin-cursed world. The question is HOW do we deal with this darkness?

Sweeter Than Honey: Let His Glory Shine!

David writes #Psalm 57 after he flees from Saul and is hiding from him in a cave. David wants #God’s glory to shine over all the earth. David is once again pleading for God’s mercy when he makes this statement: “for in You my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by” (57:1). David is hiding in a cave waiting for the storms of destruction to pass by. Are there storms in your life today that you need to take refuge from? #devotional

Choosing Motherhood

5/13/2022

We celebrate #mothers on Mother's Day because of the #relationship we have with them. For those of us #blessed enough to have had good, godly mothers, this relationship is one that imitates God’s relationship with His #children because it is a relationship built upon often unrequited sacrifice, selflessness, and #love. Just like we love #God because He first loved us, we love our mothers because they have shown so much love for us before we even knew how to reciprocate. #motherhood #mothering
This Mother’s Day was my first time being included in the “mother club.” It felt good—if strange—to have people wishing me a “Happy Mother’s Day.” So many people assured me this past Sunday that I was indeed a mother, and it got me thinking about what truly makes a mother and why we actually celebrate mothers.

Sweeter Than Honey: You Are Not Forsaken

In #Psalm 37, David reminds us that #God will not forsake us. He writes, “I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his #children begging for bread” (37:35). He reminds us to #trust the #Lord, do good, #dwell where He has placed us, and be #faithful. We are to delight ourselves in the Lord, and when we do, our steps will be established. We’re to commit our ways to Him, and be still, waiting patiently for His leading. #Biblestudy #devotional #truth #faith
