God cannot be ALWAYS good but sometimes not good. He cannot be ALWAYS in control but sometimes not in control. God cannot be ALWAYS trustworthy but sometimes not so much. The truth is that when #God says He is ALWAYS good there is no exception to that truth. Last month we looked at several stabilizing truths about our God in Stabilizing Truths About Our God – Part 1. These truths help us fight unbelief in our hearts and minds. You may remember that we looked at how God is ALWAYS good – ALWAYS!

The beautiful truth is that when it comes to our Heavenly Father whatever He says He really means that to the complete sense of the word.

Always means always every single time when it comes to our God. What a blessed truth this is in a world that is ever-changing!

Personal Reflection on Yahweh

One of my favorite parts of the book, "16 Names of God: a Strong Tower to Run to" is the personal reflections. Each of the 16 chapters in the book contains a personal reflection written by a different girl.

These personal reflections are moving! They challenge us. They are thought-provoking and we are better off having read them.

I want to share one of these with you so that you can get just a bite-sized sample of what to expect when you read "16 Names of God."

I was drawn to Pam's reflection on the name of God Yahweh. I love her transparency as she beautifully describes what many of us feel. On a day-to-day basis, we so desperately need to be reminded that God is good, faithful, and able. Pam dives into this name of God and reminds us of these unchanging attributes of God.

Resting in God: A Journey Through Psalm 16

I have a plant in my bathroom window that craves the light coming through the window. It's constantly seeking to grow towards that light. Often, I'll turn that plant, but intuitively the plant will once again lean into the light of that window. We, like that plant, need to be continually positioning ourselves to lean into the Light of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Word--the Bible. The world keeps turning us toward darkness, but we crave the Light. Let’s lean into the Light today! But how?
