If you've spent any time #reading your #Bible, you'll notice #God spoke to His people in various ways. I have a chart in my Bible that summarized the many ways we find God speaking to His people throughout history. Let’s look briefly at these various methods of communication in #Biblical history. Do you know God as your Sustainer and Friend? Everything we need to know about Him is revealed in His Word! May I encourage you to go see Him revealed in His Word and let Him speak to you today!
If you have spent any time reading your Bible, you will notice that God speaks to His people in various ways. I found a chart in my Life Application Study Bible recently that summarized the many ways we find God's speaking to His people throughout history.  Let’s look briefly at these various methods of communication in Biblical history.

1. Angels

There are several people that God spoke to through the use of angels. Jacob met an angel in Genesis 32:22-32 when he was preparing to meet his brother Esau with his family. This angel wrestled with Jacob until finally he blessed Jacob and changed his name to Israel (v. 28). Of course, the Christmas story is full of angels speaking to people in the announcement of Jesus’ birth.

Sweeter Than Honey: Consequences of Sin

Numbers 20 begins with the death of #Miriam. She had been such a help to her brother #Moses, first when he was just a baby in a basket floating in the Nile and then as he led the #Israelite people through the wilderness. Back in #Exodus 15, we read where she led the women in a song of victory after the people of #Israel crossed the #RedSea. But then, in Numbers 12, we read of Miriam and her brother, #Aaron, talking negatively about the woman Moses married all because Miriam was #jealous. #Bible
From the Old Testament to the New, the eternality of God's Word is clearly proclaimed:

Job tells us, “I have treasured the Words of His mouth more than my portion of food” (Job 23:12).

Isaiah reminds us that, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8).

And Matthew records Jesus saying, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

God's Word is like an eternal Love Letter to us!

Have you ever received a love letter, friend? Did you read it? Did you read it just once, or did you read it over and over again? A Love Letter is a treasure when you love the One who sent it!

4 Things to Remember When Ministry Hurts

2/18/2022

Growing up as a #pastor’s kid sometimes made me feel at a disadvantage--ostracized in some way from other #children. Expectations were different. Our lifestyle was different. Anything I did or said could come back to damage my parents’ #ministry and reputation. And sometimes, this all seemed unfair. As a child and teenager, I tended to see only the negative aspects of my #family’s ministry. I loved my parents, but sometimes I wished I could feel just a bit more “normal.” #Church #God #Jesus #Lord

As a child and teenager, I tended to see only the negative aspects of my family’s ministry. I loved my parents, but sometimes I wished I could feel just a bit more “normal.”

As an adult, ministry has become a choice I make for myself instead of my parents making it for me. I decide how I minister and where, and sometimes I feel my own fears getting in the way.

At this point in my life, I know that ministry is worth it. I know that it is important.

Sweeter Than Honey: Abundant Provisions

How often do we have a need and doubt #God can meet it? How long do we wait before we bring our needs to Him in #prayer? Sometimes, I think we just need to be reminded that He is the Great #Provider. His plan is for us to “#dwell in the land securely” (25:18), but we must first be willing to keep His ways. Think today about the abundant #provisions He has made for you, and be sure to #thank Him #abundantly. #Biblestudy #devotional #goodreads #amreading #readinglist #JehovahJirah #namesofGod

Today, I want to introduce you to the "A Child Should Know" series of books. These books are excellent for discipling the little hearts and minds of children 4-7 years old.

I've recently purchased the set to give as a gift to a friend who is about to have her first child. These make great baby shower gifts and birthday gifts for little ones as well.

I've found these books to be full of biblically sound doctrine and beautifully illustrated.

The set includes:
  • What Every Child Should Know About Prayer
  • Everything a Child Should Know About God
  • Everyone a Child Should Know

Find Hope and Healing Through God's Love and Compassion

Find Hope and Healing Through God's Love and Compassion: Rooted, built up, established in the #faith (Col 2:6-7) isn't that what we want? But what happens when
Recently, I've been reading Healing Devotional for Women: Daily Christian Inspiration for Strength and Peace by Rebecca Hastings author of Worthy: Believe Who God Says You Are, and Daily Meditations for Christians: A Year of Quotes, Reflections, and Scriptures.

The book immediately caught my attention because the first bit of Scripture Rebecca dives into is Colossians 2:6-7, and I am currently studying through the book of Colossians with my Sunday school class.
"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7
Rooted and built up, established in the faith, isn't that what we all want for our lives? Isn't this where we find the peace our souls so crave?
