3 Biblical Responses to Waiting (Part 1)

10/24/2025

#Discover 3 #biblical responses to #waiting in this #encouraging #devotional, 3 Biblical Responses to Waiting (Part 1). #Learn how to #trust #God in seasons of uncertainty by “standing still” as #Moses and the #Israelites did in #Exodus 14:13-14. This #faith-based study explores how waiting is never wasted when we rest in God’s #promises, rely on His timing, and let Him fight for us. Perfect for #Christian #women seeking #encouragement, patience, and #peace while waiting on the #Lord.
Life is a series of events. Think of a timeline where you can plot important events from your life. Each point represents something that happened in your life, maybe it was a decision you made or something that happened without even your input, but then you realize that in between each point on the timeline of our lives is a space…filled with WAITING! Life is just a long game of waiting, isn’t it?

What do I mean by that? Well, think with me. Little girls are waiting to grow up. Teens are waiting to go to college. College graduates are waiting to get married. Married couples are waiting to have children. Parents are waiting for their children to grow up, go to college, and leave home. Parents of adults are waiting for their adult children to start their own families so they can be grandparents, and on and on the waiting goes.

Extraordinary Faith: Part Two

Discover the extraordinary #women of the #Bible--Martha and Mary--in this inspiring blog post. #Learn how Martha’s service and Mary’s devotion both reveal unique ways to honor Christ. Explore lessons on faith, balance, hospitality, worship, and spending time at Jesus’ feet. This Bible study encourages women to embrace their God-given gifts without comparison, focusing on serving and learning from Christ. Perfect for Christian women seeking encouragement, discipleship, and deeper spiritual growth.

Lessons from Martha and Mary

Last month, we looked at an extraordinary woman whom Jesus met at the well outside Samaria. If you were listing the exceptional women in the Bible, would you have started with the Samaritan woman at the well? Maybe not, but I love the interaction and conversation that Jesus has with her. As a result of their conversation, this woman made SURE of her salvation, and then she was compelled to SHARE her faith!

She was the spark that ignited a multi-day revival in the city of Samaria. I can’t wait to meet some of those people who trusted Christ because an extraordinary woman was willing to deal with her eternal destiny and then cared enough to point others to the One who could give them living water as well.

Lessons from the Woman at the Well

What is the definition of extraordinary? According to the Cambridge English Dictionary, extraordinary means “very unusual and special; different in type or greater in degree than the usual or ordinary.”

Do you think there are any extraordinary women in the Bible? Who comes to mind? Maybe names such as Esther, Deborah, Sarah, Ruth, Mary, or Lydia come to mind. Maybe there are others that I didn’t name that you think of as extraordinary from your study of God’s Word.

What is it that makes them extraordinary? I would submit that it is their actions, attitudes, and aspirations that make them stand out from others. Whole books have been written about women such as these and others.

Discover how #faithfulness in the ordinary prepares us for #God's extraordinary #plans in “Steady Comes Before SUDDENLY.” This #encouraging #Christian blog post explores finding God’s will through daily obedience, using Moses’ story to illustrate how steady seasons lead to divine breakthroughs. Perfect for those navigating life transitions or seeking #purpose. Find #biblical #wisdom, #spiritual #encouragement, and practical #truth for your #faith journey. #GodsWill #ChristianLiving #BibleStudy
Have you ever had a sudden change of life plans? Have you ever thought that maybe those changes came out of nowhere when things seemed like they were just normal? Maybe it even seemed like God had forgotten that you were still there, serving and doing the normal, mundane things of life. I’m sure that on some level, you can relate to this situation in your life. I know I can. I was reading a book recently called Just Show Up by Drew Dyck that addressed this idea of finding God’s will, especially in the “SUDDENLY” moments of life, and I thought I would share some of my thoughts on this topic.

Finding God’s will is commonly accepted as a young person’s sport. It is the title of seminars and the topic of youth Bible studies or college campus outreaches.

Do you ever find yourself overwhelmed with the “stuff” and pressure of this life? Perhaps it manifests as inner turmoil that you keep inside and try to deal with quietly, while continuing with your work and responsibilities. Maybe it finds its way to the surface and causes you fear and anxiety that at times can be crippling. Perhaps it feels more like a weight that you carry and don’t know how to find relief. Maybe it even drives you to tears and heartache that you have no idea how to deal with.

However, those struggles find their way into your life, I can imagine that we can all say we know what that pressure feels like.

Friend, can I try to help relieve your pressure today? If I could sit and listen to you share your heart and your story today, this Psalm would be one of the places I would take you.

In 1 #Thessalonians 5, the #Apostle Paul lays out clear and powerful commands--not just for #personalgrowth, but for how we relate to one another as the #bodyofChrist. Don’t quench the Spirit. Holy Living
from 1 Thessalonians 5
(Part 2)

Here we are back in 1 Thessalonians 5 with the Apostle Paul looking at these commands for holy living in the lives of believers. Remember, Paul is addressing the church at Thessalonica and helping them to know how to relate to other believers with these short commands. The first three we looked at last month (3 Rapid-Fired Commands for Holy Living) were found in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, where Paul speaks specifically to some personal commands:
  1. “Rejoice evermore.”
  2. “Pray without ceasing.”
  3. “In every thing give thanks…”

Holy Living
from 1 Thessalonians 5
(Part 1)

Paul is one of my favorite writers the Holy Spirit used in the New Testament. There are so many ways that I relate to what he struggled with and how he shares those struggles in such a transparent way.

I Thessalonians is one of the first books of the New Testament written about 52-53 AD. Paul wrote this letter to the church at Thessalonica probably a few months after leaving them on his second missionary journey. He had heard a good report from Timothy about what was going on there and decided to write to encourage the believers there.
