Ever wonder what you're called to do? What are we here for? What is our purpose? People are searching for this very thing today, yet Peter lays it out so clearly here in this passage.
"Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer." I Peter 3:8-12
Wow! If we can just remember this today and be the blessing we were called to be. Let's just try that on for size... unity, sympathy, love, tender hearts, humble minds. Those 5 things. Can we do those 5 things (our calling) today? In doing so we indeed will be the blessing we are called to be.
Oh! To be part of God's plan. To allow His will to direct my choices. To make His purpose my purpose.
How do you see your calling in light of I Peter 3:8-12?
