Ever wonder what you're called to do? What are we here for? What is our purpose? People are searching for this very thing today, yet Peter lays it out so clearly here in this passage.
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayer." I Peter 3:8-12
"ALL of you..." he writes. Unity, sympathy, love, tender hearts, humble minds, this is it!
He goes on to write, "Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, BLESS..." To be a blessing. It's our calling! "...to this you were called..." Peter writes.
Wow! If we can just remember this today and be the blessing we were called to be. Let's just try that on for size today... unity, sympathy, love, tender hearts, humble minds.
How will you be a blessing today?
