“Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to accuse him. And the Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you, O Satan! The Lord Who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is not this a brand plucked from the fire?’ Now Joshua was standing before the angel, clothed with filthy garments. And the angel said to those who were standing before him, ‘Remove the filthy garments from him.’ And to him he said, ‘Behold, I have taken your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.’ And I said, ‘Let them put a clean turban on his head.’ So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the Lord was standing by. |

When I read God’s Word each morning, I find inspiration and insight that keeps my day on track. Join me on this journey. Let’s settle in with His Word—it’s His Love Letter to us. Did you know that? Let’s read it like a Love Letter, expecting to glean something for our walk with Him every day. Let’s look for peace in the chaos and strength for our weaknesses. Even on our busiest days we can carve out a few minutes to refocus on the important. Can’t we? We may have to get up a little earlier, when the house is still and quiet, or stay up a few minutes after the others are tucked in for the night, but we can do this! I know we can!

Click here to enterI love that passage, too. Another is Ezekiel 16, which describes God as rescuing an abandoned child and dressing her in beautiful garments.
That is a beautiful passage, Barbara! "... I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord God, and you became Mine." Ezekiel 16:8 LOVE THAT!
Reading a harder and harder children's bible each year to my children helped me finally put the story of the bible into chronological order. Which was so helpful for parts of the old testament. Reading a bible in chronological order of authorship would also be interesting.
Love the passage today. How God speaks back to Satan when he is accusing his children.
So glad that He is on our side and we are on His! :)
I was an adult before I figured out the chronology of the Bible, so I love teaching kids (and grown-ups!) the scope and sequence of scripture!
It's fascinating, Michele, and really puts things into perspective. I think one of the things I most enjoyed learning as I read in chronological order of book authorship was how different characters overlapped. Knowing that they lived at the same time and would have known each other, and realizing what books of the Bible they would and would not have had during their life time is interesting.
I think of Ephes. how He chose us before the foundation of the world! I hadn't thought of the passage in Zech. in a long time. Thank you.
Thanks, Debbie! I love that part of Ephesians too. :) It's really mind boggling to think about!!! Chosen! :)
Thanks, Tai! We're on the winning side. So grateful!
