Genesis 23-26: Please Grant Me Success
The servant was looking for a special girl—a girl, who in the heat of the day would not only offer him a drink of water but also offer to draw water for the ten camels accompanying him. That’s no small task!
I am so glad that "God cares about the little things in our lives—not just the ten camel experiences." Aren't you?

I'm thankful we can take everything, large, small, or in-between, to God in prayer.

Success is such a slippery term, and I need regular doses of truth to keep my perspective aligned with God’s definition which has nothing to do with my glory!

And I think "success" here, Michele, is so interesting from the perspective of Abraham's servant because clearly he knew that if there were to be any success in this situation it would be God's doings.

Isaac and Rebekah's story is one of my favorites. Abraham's servant's faith and love for his master is inspiring. I just scheduled a post on tips for reading the Bible, but I'm gonna go back in and link to this post. Wonderful resource!

I recently realized that I haven't been praying before writing. I have my morning prayer/bible/study time, but not praying before writing. I think vs. 24:12 would be an excellent prayer with one change. I'll be replacing Abraham with my Master's name, Jesus. This is an encouraging post - Thanks.

Every day, in 2020, while I was writing Sweeter Than Honey I began with prayer. My greatest fear was that I would read the day's passage and not know what to write. God never failed to open my eyes and show me what to write that day!

I love that we can talk to God about anything, and he hears us and guides us. This is a great example you share here.

I love praying specifically, Calvonia. If we only pray in generalities it's much more difficult to see God's answers.

This is so true! "God's Word is like an eternal Love Letter to us! A Love Letter is a treasure when you love the One who sent it!"
