Revival: Who Needs It?“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” Hosea 10:12
It is time. Spring has arrived and the fallow ground, the neglected and barren soil, is now made ready for the seed. It is a wonderful feeling to sink fingers into the cool, smooth earth after it has been prepared for planting. No rocks. No weeds. It is all ready to receive the seed.
What a vivid picture God has given to demonstrate His call to revival! Hearts that have become hardened through the deceitfulness of sin (Hebrews 3:13) can become broken and soft as we admit our guilt and agree with God about our sin. Hearts can become ready to receive God’s Word.
Who needs revival?
How long has it been since you have devoted time to prayer? To God’s Word? How long has it been since you have lifted up your voice to sing praises from your heart to your Savior? These acts of worship, along with others, should be a natural part of our day if we are a child of God.
It is God’s grace that will put the desire in our hearts to love Him once again. His grace will give us the power to return. It is time to be revived. Oh God! Turn my heart from idols that I may worship You alone. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation. Revive my heart and I will rejoice in You!
Have you long thought of revival to be only for the unsaved? I thought that once too. But now, I realize it's something I need! Revival: Who Needs It? ME! How will you seek Him this week?

We all need revival at different points in our lives. God is so gracious to keep drawing us to Himself.

I agree, Barbara. He never lets us go. Over the years as I’ve responded to His call to be revived, these have been the biggest times of growth and change for me.

Yes, Michele! I love where Julie writes, "God has made our hearts for worship. If we are not worshipping God, we are worshipping something or someone. This is idolatry. We need to be revived!" It's so ture!

This is my third time to go through the study. It is well worth the investment! I pray others will get the book and do the study this summer with us.

I have loved the first week of this study. The text continues to gently nudge my attention inward, examining my own heart. Thanks for the kind invitation to join the group. Even if I never make it to what happens at 9am on Tuesdays, I am growing. May God bless your leadership and ministry as you reach out to ladies like me. 💖

I’m so glad you can be a part of Seeking Him, Friend. This study is doing the same for me for the 3rd time, and more so than it even did the first 2 times. It just goes to show us that we need to examine our hearts on a regular basis. There is so much around us that gets us off track. Thank you for the kind words, and may God continue to bless and grow your ministry💕

I needed this reminder that we need reviving throughout our lives, not just as a one time thing to draw us to Jesus initially.

Absolutely, Jeanne!! The need for revival is indeed a continuous aspect of our spiritual journey. It's not a one-time event but a ongoing process of drawing closer to Jesus, renewing our hearts, and aligning our lives with His purposes. May your ongoing journey be filled with continuous renewal and a deepening connection with the source of Life.
