"For years I have been impressed by the Lord both to seek and teach His peace. And I did. I would write about it many times on my blog. I prayed it for people. I began to understand that though He gave us this gift, it is one we have to accept and use over and over again.
I even began to use it as a signature verse. When I sign a post, it is with a dove and His peace, Rebecca. His peace is different from any other and truly is a gift. Never before had I needed His peace so as last year. On the weekend after Thanksgiving, I was rushed to the hospital—a blister on my leg had burst. It was serious, but I had His assurance that it would be all right. I never expected to be in three hospitals and face nine surgeries, and five or more life-threatening ailments. I had to pray constantly; I was alone, even with doctors and nurses running in and out. I had only three visits in three months because of Covid restrictions and I had that too. But because I had chosen to keep sowing the words of peace into my mind and heart, I was never alone. I even met Jehovah Qanna, the jealous God. I was experiencing the power of Jehovah Rapha, the Healer. Jesus was not letting the devil take my life. He gave me His peace. "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." John 14:27 And I will be honest, there were times I could not remember verses to pray. I would hate to be in a situation as an unbeliever having no Word to count on. Without going into great detail about tests and operations, let me say I was pretty much close to being bedridden, and I could not get up. I relied on Him. Instead of desperation, I praised Him out of inspiration, and I was desperate to walk. But by Christmas, I was writing a little when before I could barely sign my name for blood transfusions. I didn't come home walking but on a stretcher. I still had a massive wound and skin graft, but I was home. I had missed my sixtieth birthday, my mother's birthday, and Christmas. I did get to watch a few minutes of “It's A Wonderful Life” with a kind nurse. All I had before were a few calls. I could not type. But I had His peace. It took me a while to return to social media. My January plans ended up being March plans. A lady who kept telling me how much Jesus loved me last fall was even amazed that I was back. I endured a lot with His peace, and I am a miracle any way you look at it. My mother and I almost didn't make it when I was born. So I know He has always been there. I can assure you that He is there for you as well, whatever you may face. I speak His peace to you and pray it over your situation. And while I may not be walking or driving yet, I am on my way to better days, and still, I open His gift of Peace.
Here are a few peace verses for you:
“Great peace have those who love Your law; nothing can make them stumble.” Psalm 119:165 "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts You." Isaiah 26:3 "But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 "And He shall be their peace." Micah 5:5a "To give knowledge of salvation to His people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:77-79 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace.…" Galatians 5:22a "For He Himself is our peace, Who has made us both one and has broken down in His flesh the dividing wall of hostility." Ephesians 2:14 "'…Peace, peace, to the far and to the near,’ says the Lord, 'and I will heal him.'" Isaiah 57:19 "He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near." Eph. 2:17 "And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful." Colossians 3:15 "And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." James 3:18 I am so thankful, He sowed peace to me." —Rebecca

I have to admit, I am very curious how a burst blister could be so extreme but I know that's not the point of Rebecca's story. the Bible says a lot about peace, so God must know we are a anxious people. I recently struggled with peace on a long drive home home in bad weather. I knew the night before the weather would be bad, and had trouble sleeping. I just kept praying and God got us home safely.

It's understandable to wonder about the details, Amy, but you're right—Rebecca's story ultimately highlights God's presence and peace in the midst of adversity. Your experience with the long drive in bad weather resonates deeply with me—I don't like driving at night, and bad weather doubles that anxiety. It's incredible how God hears our prayers and provides peace, guiding us safely through challenging situations. His faithfulness is truly remarkable! :) Blessings to you!
