"I stared at the ceiling, wondering what will become of my hubby if I don’t make it through. You see, he has suffered a number of losses, and this one will break him. I thought of my kids. Perhaps they will be ok, but things will be different. Will they remember the values I taught them? Will their dad be able to cope?
“Lord, if there be any mercy left for me, please show it today” I cried. I had tasted the mercies of God in difficult health situations before. Now, I felt my body was failing. The blood level was incredibly low and transfusion was an emergency protocol. Jehovah Rapha is not a mere title. It is a functional healing attribute of God. While I was thinking of a call home to glory, God was working on my heart.
Scripture is littered with different kinds of healing. God is not limited, and no disease, regardless of its origin or name, is above His expertise.
For some of us, it is our soul that needs healing. Soul healing grants us freedom from the bondage of sin and breaks the yokes of Satan. Others require God to break the yoke of anxiety and fear or generational patterns that afflict our present lives. God knows if our thoughts are right. Our physical bodies respond. He heals our hearts and minds. For some, forgiveness is all we need. It is setting free those who have hurt us so we can be unstuck. He knows the heart wounds we carry and has a soothing balm for us (Psalm 147:3). You see, our physical bodies respond to what is going on right inside our hearts and minds. While our desire may be for physical healing, God desires that our souls be set free from all sorts of addictions and cravings that may be jeopardizing our physical bodies. Reflect: What healing do you really need? God can take all of it (Deuteronomy 7:15), but we need to walk in wholehearted obedience (Exodus 15:26). God faithfully keeps His promises, but we need to commit to serve and obey (Deuteronomy 23: 25-26). God is my Jehovah Rapha." —Ifeoma
