The glorious resurrection of Jesus begs us to answer the question, "What now?" What does this mean for our practical, real, everyday life?
The resurrection reminds us that God makes dead things come to life. And if God can make dead things come to life, He can certainly do the same for me. In salvation He made us who were dead in sins come back to life (Ephesians 2:1). We were once far from God, but the blood of Christ has brought us near (Ephesians 2:13). We have been raised with Christ and saved by His grace (Ephesians 2:5). The triumphant truth of the Gospel is that we were so far from God, but His death and resurrection have brought us near to Him.
So Jesus met with His disciples after the resurrection and told them that just as the Father had sent Him to earth, He was now sending them (and us too!). We who have experienced His great salvation and have been witnesses of this Risen Christ are commissioned to go and tell.
It makes me think about when something exciting happens, and I can barely contain the news. I find myself texting my husband or posting on social media, or even taking to the family group text to tell the news. How much more should we be excited to share the news that changes everything? Jesus gave a few other instructions to the disciples in those days before He ascended back into Heaven. He told Peter to feed His sheep, and He urged the disciples with one phrase that summed it all up—the words, "Follow Me." Follow Me. The words seem so simple, but they encompass everything that Jesus wants us to do on this earth. We are to follow Him.
Chapter 21 of John starts by telling us that Jesus was revealed again, and that is just what Jesus' time on earth did—it revealed who God is.
He is the:
So Jesus calls to us and says, I have shown you who I am, now follow Me.
The cross reminds us of the magnificent love of our God, and the empty tomb reminds us of His triumphant power.
So what does the resurrection mean for our everyday lives? It means that we can take every care to a God who loves us beyond comprehension and who is mighty to save. So when you need to be reminded of His love, look to the cross. And when you need to be reminded that there is nothing too hard for our God, look to the empty tomb. The God who has loved you with an everlasting love also has the power to bring dead things to life again. There is nothing too hard for our God.
And every day that He gives us, we hear His gentle voice whisper to our hearts, "Follow Me!"

Jesus' resurrection shows God's power and reassures that He can do anything. It takes away our fear of death to know He conquered it.

Yes, Barbara, how can I ever doubt when clearly, if He can conquer death can't He also take care of my little insignificant, everyday problems? Sure He can! And He will!

Today is kind of a low day, so thanks for this reminder: "The resurrection reminds us that God makes dead things come to life. And if God can make dead things come to life, He can certainly do the same for me. "

The resurrection means, I am loved, I am forgiven, and I am redeemed. I don’t have to live life from the position of brokenness, because I am complete in Christ. Praise the Lord! Thanks for reminding me. Grace and peace!

Yes, Rebecca! So simple.Yet, I struggle to do that one simple thing sometimes. I LOVE THIS! —> "I find it's a choice, over and over, to keep following. Not only in my choice to believe but to think on His things, to do His will, to follow His ways."

Patsy, I love this reflection of applying the meaning of the cross and resurrection to our daily lives. Because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us! Romans 8:11
