Where did the Proverbs 31 woman find all that energy!?
Honestly, friend, think about the energy the Proverbs 31 woman must have needed to be and do all these things. It seems exhausting to me! Does it seem that way to you too?
I know it wasn’t all her, it was God working through her, and that’s what I need every day. Still, I find it overwhelming to think of me, in any way, exhibiting all these godly character traits. How can we become this woman?
How can we boldly live out Proverbs 31 and be all these things?
I want to be all these things, but most of all, I want to become a woman who loves God!
Often, I find books and conferences on living out Proverbs 31 to be strong on practice and weak on principle. They bombard us with lists of dos and don’ts—for example:
Those are all well and good. But, while I long for self-transformation, I also excel at comparing myself to others. I look at Instagram and compare her home to my home and her life to my life.
I don’t need a list of dos and don’ts, and comparing myself to others is not what God wants me to be doing. I don’t need rule-based teaching or comparison. I need the grace of God! My behavior flows from what I know about God
It is what I know about my God that gives godliness its shape.
This is how I boldly live out Proverbs 31. It’s His grace in my life that teaches me to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and "Yes" to being more like Him. The freedom found in God's grace says I do not have to meet culture’s vision of the perfect woman. I just need to be a woman who loves God! Two thing we can cling to today:
I don't know about you, but I am incredibly grateful for those two statements. I cling to them just as peanut butter clings to jelly! God knows me by my name. He is patient with my slowness to change. I am forgiven and transformed by grace through His faith. These truths spur me on to boldly live out Proverbs 31. We need deep roots into His Word
At the heart of boldly living out Proverbs 31 is a confident trust in God. This includes an inner strength that comes from a deep knowledge of His Word—the Bible. When I put my trust in God, I find the courage to live a Proverbs 31 lifestyle. We need deep, deep roots that search out God’s Word and His truth to be a Proverbs 31 woman. One way we do this is through meditation on and memorization of His Word.

Boldly living out Proverbs 31 in your singleness
We long to know God’s purpose for our life, don't we? His purpose for our life was never an afterthought in the design plan for humanity. From the beginning of creation, God made us in His image, each unique with a specific purpose.
To boldly live out Proverbs 31 we need to be lovers of home and family. At the same time though, we should never idolize home and family. We must find a proper balance. Even a single woman can boldly live out Proverbs 31. Singleness should never become the waiting room for marriage. But rather, singleness should be an opportunity to serve God with undivided attention. Home and family should never be an end to itself, but rather a place to reach out to others. The Proverbs 31 woman’s home shouldn't be only a secure refuge for her family. It should also be a base for loving, serving, and reaching out to others. My prayer for us today:Lord Jesus, give us the energy to boldly live out Proverbs 31.

This is a lovely post. I love the reminder that in order to "be a Proverbs 31 woman" we don't need to strive for perfection, as culture would push us to do.
