Shortly afterward, my sweet mama came up with a book of her own. She asked me to create a biblical version of the book specifically for her. I was hesitant at first to try to come up with the verses for this new book, Captain Small Pig. But after praying over it, God led me to just the right Scripture and I love how the book turned out!
Friend, you can do this too! Your handwriting does not have to be perfect. Mine isn't. Your handwriting is uniquely yours and that's what makes this a priceless gift.
Consider giving one of these books as a Christmas gift. Kristen writes she received her first Scripture embellished book as a graduation gift. They're also great birthday and baby shower gifts.
Biblical Version of Captain Small Pig
Captain Small Pig is a charming story of family and a day on the water.
Out on Blue Lake with his parents Old Goat and Turkey, Small Pig is ready for an adventure.
“I’m Captain Commander!” Small Pig said.
“Aye aye, Captain Small Pig!” yawned Old Goat. “You are in charge of this boat!”
But Small Pig soon tires of rowing and falls asleep.
Before they know it, the boat is drifting across the lake, and grumpy Turkey is in for a soaking!
I love Martin Waddell’s quirky tale and Susan Varley’s lovely illustrations. They make for a gentle bedtime story filled with quite an adventure.
