Sweeter Than Honey: Inquire of the Lord

David is considered #Israel's greatest king. He is part of the genealogical line of #Jesus and is one of the most amazing #biblical characters to study. There's so much we can learn from what the #Bible records of his life. He is known as “a man after #God's own heart“ (1 Sam 13:14) but he was in no way a perfect man. His life is filled with ups and downs like those faced by us today. There were occasions when he loved the #Lord greatly, and there were also occasions when he failed Him greatly.

From the Old Testament to the New, the eternality of God's Word is clearly proclaimed:

Job tells us, “I have treasured the Words of His mouth more than my portion of food” (Job 23:12).

Isaiah reminds us that, “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of our God endures forever” (Isaiah 40:8).

And Matthew records Jesus saying, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35).

God's Word is like an eternal Love Letter to us!

Have you ever received a love letter, friend? Did you read it? Did you read it just once, or did you read it over and over again? A Love Letter is a treasure when you love the One who sent it!

Of the many #gifts #God has given us, music is one of my favorites. Music has great power. It #encourages and uplifts. It brings quiet and #calm. It can #celebrate our greatest #joys and console us in our deepest #grief. Studies have shown music improves our #health. But of all the things #music can do, I find myself in awe of one in particular. Music has great power to help us #learn and #remember. Here are our family’s favorite #resources for #Gospel-centered music for #children. #momhack

Of the many gifts that God has given to His creation, music is one of my favorites. Music has great power. It can encourage and uplift. It can bring quiet and calm. It can be used to celebrate our greatest joys as well as console us in our deepest griefs. There have even been studies that show that music can improve our health. But of all the things that music can do, I find myself in awe of one in particular. Music has great power to help us learn and remember.

When I worked in a Montessori classroom with three to six-year-olds, I was amazed not only at the amount of information these young minds could retain but also at how quickly they could commit it to memory, and all because it was set to music. These little ones could easily recall the seven continents, the days of the week, the months of the year, all fifty states (in alphabetical order), and more!
