A Prayer for Ordering Our Ways

I was #reading through the #Bible with the Sweeter Than Honey Bible #readingplan when on October 15 I came to 2 Chronicles 27-29: Ordering Your Ways Before #God. There, I read that King #Jotham, a good king of #Judah, did what was right in the eyes of the #LORD. It is recorded for us in 2 #Chronicles 27:6, that he became mighty and it even tells us how and why. Jotham became mighty because he “ordered his ways before the LORD his God” and I want that for us today too! #Biblestudy #devotional

This past fall, I was reading through the Bible with the Sweeter Than Honey Bible reading plan. On October 15, I came to 2 Chronicles 27-29: Ordering Your Ways Before God.

There, I read that King Jotham, a good king of Judah, did what was right in the eyes of the LORD.

It is recorded for us in 2 Chronicles 27, that he became mighty and it even tells us how and why:

“So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God.” 2 Chronicles 27:6

Jotham became mighty because he “ordered his ways before the LORD his God” and I want that for us today too!

Scripture about ordering our ways:

“He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.” Psalm 18:33

“The steps of a man are established [ordered] by the Lord, when he delights in His way; though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand…The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.” Psalm 37:23-24, 31

"When I thought, ‘My foot slips,’ Your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, Your consolations cheer my soul.” Psalm 94:18-19

“Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping Your statutes!” Psalm 119:5

“Keep steady my steps according to Your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133

Just as King Jotham ordered his ways before the Lord his God, I want us to order our ways before His as well! Are you with me? Let's pray this prayer together today.

A prayer for ordering our ways:

“Thank You, Lord, that as our steps are ordered by Your hand,
and that we will be upheld and our feet will not slip.
In Your mercy, You bring comfort to our souls.
Lord, please order and keep steady our steps.
Make us delight in Your Word.
Help us to walk worthy, fully pleasing to You.
Teach us Your way, O LORD, that we will walk in Your truth,
and give us undivided hearts to fear Your name. —AMEN"

I was thinking about your question, How will I order my steps today? I didn't really have an answer. Praying that God gives me His wisdom each step of the way.

It's important to plan; but also to hold our plans loosely in case the Lord has a divine appointment for us today!
