In this 3-part Bible study, A Journey of Worship: The Psalms of Ascent, we'll take a deep dive into each of these 15 Psalms. The study offers comfort, calm, and hope for the various situations we face.
As pilgrims on the journey of life, we find courage in God's strength as we seek His guidance. We look forward to our ultimate destination of eternal worship of the One true God. This is our journey of worship! Join me today as we dive into A Journey of Worship. “Those who trust in the Lord Psalm 125: The Lord Surrounds His People
Psalm 125 paints a beautiful picture of the protection that comes from trusting God. Let's explore the timeless truths found in this Psalm. Let's reflect on the steadfastness of God. Let's remind ourselves of the blessings that come to those who place their trust in Him. Let's dive into the comforting message of Psalm 125. There, we'll discover peace and stability. This peace and stability come from being enveloped by the presence of the Lord.
Verse 1-2—Unshakable Trust in the Lord: "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, from this time forth and forevermore." The psalmist begins by using the imagery of Mount Zion—an immovable presence. He uses this imagery to illustrate their unwavering trust placed in the Lord. Just as the mountains surround Jerusalem, the Lord surrounds His people. The mountains provide protection and security. God provides this for us with His divine presence. This imagery emphasizes the everlasting nature of God's care. It's a vivid picture of God's love for His children. When we trust in the Lord, we find ourselves rooted in His unchanging faithfulness. That's where I want to be, friend!
Psalm 125 invites us to find rest in the unwavering protection that comes from trusting in the Lord. Just as Mount Zion stands firm and immovable, we too can experience stability. We can find abiding peace when we place our trust in God. His presence surrounds us. He shields us from the wicked that seek to sway us from the path of righteousness. That's all around us these days, isn't it, friend?
As we embrace a life of righteousness, we position ourselves to receive God's goodness. When we remain steadfast in our trust in Him, we are strengthened. We are fortified against the temptations and distractions that can lead us astray. The Lord's guiding hand keeps us on the right path, ensuring our peace and security. May the words of Psalm 125 encourage you today to place your trust in the Lord. May you know that He surrounds you with His unwavering love and protection. Let's find comfort in His everlasting presence. Let's draw strength from the unshakable foundation of our faith. As we journey towards worship, may we rest in His immeasurable peace. This is the peace that passes ALL understanding! This peace comes from being surrounded by our faithful God. You are secure in the steadfast presence of your Heavenly Father. Never forget that, friend!

I've been spending more time in the Psalms this year and it has been such a blessing. I've been using Spurgeon's commentary on them but your study looks good, as well.
