9 Blessings of Brokenness

I have often thought that if there were any blessings of brokenness, and there are, one of them would be that it gives us a greater sensitivity and compassion to recognize brokenness in others.

A greater sensitivity and compassion to recognize brokenness in others. That’s the first blessing of brokenness. I have certainly found that to be true in my own life. You may have found it to be true in yours as well.

Brokenness can be a blessing.

God does give us compassion and a calm sense of serenity through brokenness. We learn that He is with us, even (especially) in our darkest times. Heading over to read the rest of the article, Patsy.

He is the God of compassion and a peace that the world cannot give or understand—sometimes, I don't even understand it!

Thank you, Lois. It's so difficult to see the blessings when you're in the midst of brokenness, but when you look back... Wow! What a blessing that broken state can be!

Patsy, I agree with you. Going through brokenness does make us more compassionate. It becomes easier to weep with those who weep.

Brokenness doesn't always feel good while we are in the process (and aren't we always in some way or another) but it does yield the peaceful fruit of righteousness and so many other hidden benefits, doesn't it! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this and for hosting. Blessings!
