6 Reasons to Praise God Today From Psalm 107

The book of Psalms is typically divided into five parts. These parts are sometimes referred to as "divisions."

​The divisions are:

1. Psalms 1-41
2. Psalms 42-72
3. Psalms 73-89
4. Psalms 90-106
5. Psalms 107-150

It's believed the division of five parts is influenced by the structure of the Pentateuch. Psalm 107 begins the final, or fifth, division of the book of Psalms.

For the longest, I claimed Psalm 107:2a as my life verse. "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so..." It was my goal to "say so" because I have been redeemed!

There are so many reasons why we as believers should praise God every day! Here are just a few:

• Gratitude: We should praise God to express our gratitude for all the blessings that He has given us. Praise is a way to acknowledge the goodness of God, and to thank Him for His mercy, love, and faithfulness.
  ​
• Worship: Praise is a form of worship, and it is a way for us to show our reverence and devotion to God. Through praise, we acknowledge God's greatness, power, and sovereignty over all things.
  ​
• Joy: Praise is also a way to experience joy and delight in God's presence. As we praise God, we can experience His love, peace, and joy, which can uplift our spirits and bring us closer to Him.
  ​​
• Healing: Praise can also bring healing and restoration to the body, mind, and soul. When we praise God, we can experience a sense of peace. We also experience comfort. This peace and comfort help us overcome anxiety and other challenges in life.​​
  ​
  
• Spiritual growth: Praise can also help us to grow in our faith and relationship with God. As we praise God, we learn more about His character, His will for our lives, and His plan for the world.

​Overall, we should praise God because it is the way we express our gratitude. It's also the way we worship and express joy. It's a way to heal and grow spiritually. It is through praise that we experience the goodness of God. It's also through praise that we draw closer to Him in our daily walk.​​

​Today, let's look at 6 reasons we should praise God from Psalm 107.

1. His steadfast love endures forever

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!" Psalm 107:1

2. He redeems us from trouble

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from trouble..." Psalm 107:2

3. He gathers us and calls us to Himself

"...and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south." Psalm 107:3

4. He delivers us from distress

"Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress." Ps. 107:6

5. He satisfies the longing and hungry soul

"For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things." Psalm 107:9

6. He brings us out and delivers us

"He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds..." Psalm 107:14
