We also learn from Scripture that we are temples of the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." As believers, we have the Holy Spirit living within us. Our bodies are now sacred spaces dedicated to God's purposes.
These are just a few examples of what the Bible says we are in God. There are so many other aspects of our identity and purpose as humans that the Bible speaks to as well. Let's look at a few of those today. I am rightfully God's child"But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12 I am God's beloved daughter"For in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith." Galatians 3:26 I am deeply cherished and loved by God"But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 I am completely forgiven by God"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 I am God's new creation"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17 I am bought with a price and I belong to God"Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 I am set free by God from any condemnation"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death...What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will he not also with Him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the One who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God...interceding for us." Romans 8:1-2, 31-34 I am established and anointed by God"And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put His seal on us and given us His Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 I am God’s work of art and created for good works"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 I am God's salt of the earth and His light of the world“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people's feet." Matthew 5:13-14 I am chosen and appointed by God to bear fruit"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you." John 15:16 I am God’s coworker for the Gospel"Working together with Him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain." 2 Corinthians 6:1 I am in God and I am His offspring"In Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your own poets have said, For we are indeed His offspring." Acts 17:28 I am redeemed and forgiven by God's grace"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." Ephesians 1:7 I am an heir with purpose by God's will" In Him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will." Ephesians 1:11 I am sealed by God's promise"In Him you also, when you heard the Word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation, and believed in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit." Ephesians 1:13 I am a dwelling place for God's Spirit"In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit." Eph. 2:22 I am made bold and confident through faith in God"In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in Him." Eph. 3:12
Which of these 18 things the Bible says you are in God are you leaning on most today?
