Hello, friend! Are you ready to begin your journey toward greater joy? Join us for our Summer 2023 Book Club-Style Bible Study. We're reading "Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy" by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. This book challenges and equips us to live a life of gratitude.

What is gratitude? Gratitude is a choice. It is a decision to focus on the good things in our lives, even when things are difficult. When we choose gratitude, we are choosing to be happy and content. Why is gratitude important?

Gratitude has many benefits, including:

Increased happiness and well-being
Reduced stress and anxiety
Improved physical health
Stronger relationships
Increased creativity and productivity

Aging With Grace: Week Eight

When someone mentions the book of Ruth, I think of the beautiful love story between #Ruth and Boaz. That’s what makes it a favorite of so many. But there's another love story in that book that is just as beautiful. It has to do with #Naomi and God--the story of a love that takes a bitter widow and brings her to a place of flourishing. In the midst of unimaginable pain, Naomi felt her life was useless and hopelessness. Naomi’s life had unraveled, but God was reweaving it into a beautiful tapestry.

Have you ever noticed that #children tend to be short-sighted? They live for the moment. They do not consider the consequences of their actions. Those of us who are #parents desire to teach our children the importance of taking the long view instead. Aging With Grace: Week Six

How do we #flourish in times of darkness Teaching 5th graders provided the opportunity to learn an important lesson about #flourishing. In seeking to find out under what conditions a plant would grow best, we planted 3 bean seeds--one seed we watered and placed in complete darkness. One we placed in light with no water, and the third was watered and placed in a window. The surprise for us all was that the seed watered but in darkness was able to become quite tall, but it was completely white.

Aging With Grace: Week Five

Although there are no words adequate to describe the wonders of God’s creation, pictures of its beauty and majesty come to mind when we hear the words “flourishing” and “fruitful.” God has made most all living things with the capability to physically flourish and bear fruit. When I think of creation bringing glory to God, I think of the plants and animals doing what they were created to do. This is a beautiful picture of how we also flourish and bear fruit. By doing what He has created us to do.

The loss of our first #grandchild at the age of two weeks threw me into a two-year period of #grieving that resulted in a greater understanding of #God’s #love and His ways, and yes, a greater understanding of my “dreadfully wicked heart.” #bookclub #Biblestudy

Aging With Grace: Week Three

My desire to age with #grace and even knowing how to do it will not make it happen. Life is unpredictable and our crazy days and busy #schedules can leave us #overwhelmed. We think we know how to respond to the #pressures. But the details of life clutter our minds. We become bogged down, and suddenly and unexpectedly we forget our #destiny and our destination. What is our destiny as children of another kingdom? The noun “destiny” is a predetermined, inevitable, irresistible, course of events.
