Sweeter Than Honey is a 365-day devotional journey that leads the reader

When I read God’s Word each morning, it brings inspiration and insight that guides my day. Let's treat His Word as the Love Letter it truly is, finding peace in chaos and strength in our weaknesses.
Even on our busiest days, we can carve out a few minutes to focus on what truly matters. Whether it's early in the morning when the house is quiet or late at night after everyone else is asleep, we can make time for God’s Word. Let's be intentional, letting His truths inspire us to live out our faith daily, in a way that draws others to the peace and joy we've found in Him. |

Click here to enterIt is in the mighty challenges that I have kept my eyes like glue on God - and it is in the comfortable seasons that it seems harder - and it is in those comfortable seasons that I recognize I miss that closeness I had with God during the hard - and it becomes a prayer - not for the challenge, but for the closeness again - but I would take the challenge in order to have that closeness.
I feel your comment, Maryleigh, resonates deeply with so many of us here!! :) There is something powerful about how trials drive us into deeper dependence on God, where every moment feels like we’re clinging to Him with “glue-like” intensity. <— I LOVE THAT! It’s so true, during those difficult seasons, our need for God is so present and urgent that we experience an intimacy that often seems to fade when life becomes comfortable.
I love how you’ve turned this realization into a prayer, not necessarily for the challenge but for that closeness with God once more. It’s a beautiful reminder that the true treasure in trials isn’t just getting through them, but drawing near to the One who carries us through. I also think of Psalm 63:1, where David says, “My soul thirsts for You; my flesh faints for You.” Whether in comfort or challenge, that hunger for God's presence is a gift.
Thank you for sharing your heart! Your words will inspire others to seek the Lord, not just in trials but in all seasons, praying for a heart that continually desires that closeness with Him.
I’m teaching through Habakkuk right now, reading his hopelessness and reminded of the fleeting moments of reform before Israel returned to her idolatry. May we resist the downward pull of temptation!
Michele, isn't Habakkuk AMAZING!!? Such a timely message in a world where we can easily feel that same sense of hopelessness. Habakkuk’s wrestling with God, especially in chapters 1 and 2, is a reminder that even when we don’t understand God’s plan, we can trust His sovereignty. The fleeting reforms you mention highlight how quickly hearts can turn away, just as Israel did over and over again. Your comment about resisting the downward pull of temptation is spot on—how easy it is to slip back into old patterns, even when we’ve tasted God’s goodness!
Habakkuk 3:17-19 serves as a powerful conclusion, showing that even amidst the apparent absence of blessings, he chooses to rejoice in God. It’s a lesson for all of us to cling to God, especially in times of trial and temptation.
Praying your teaching brings new insight and encouragement to your group, empowering them to stand firm in faith! Keep sowing those seeds of truth!
