This journey is rooted in the rhythm of Prayer, Praise, and Promise—a reminder that God is our refuge, our joy, and the faithful Keeper of every soul. As we lift our prodigals before Him, we also allow His Word to strengthen our hearts in the waiting.
Your prayers matter, friend. Your faith is not in vain. The Father still calls His children by name, and His arms remain open. I hope you'll also join us over in the private Prodigal Prayers Facebook group and walk this journey with others who believe in the power of prayer. Let’s begin again today—trusting God together. A Prayer for Knowledge
In the margin of my Bible, beside Psalm 67:2, I have written the words that carry the weight of a heartfelt plea – "pray over the prodigal." This verse is a prayer for knowledge.
"That Your way may be known on earth, Your saving power among all nations." Psalm 67:2 If you’re reading this, most likely you too bear the burden of a wandering soul—a prodigal straying from the path God has chosen for them. Like me, you will find that the verses of Psalm 67 become more than words on a page; they transform into a fervent prayer, a beacon of hope for the lost. Psalm 67, a hymn of praise, is an anthem that resonates through the ages. It begins with an earnest plea for God's grace and blessing: "May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face to shine upon us, Selah" (67:1). The psalmist's plea is not selfish; it is a call for divine favor that transcends personal boundaries. It is a plea that the divine radiance may extend beyond the individual to touch the lives of others, particularly those who have strayed from the fold. The psalmist continues, invoking a higher purpose in the blessings sought: "that Your way may be known on earth, Your saving power among all nations" (67:2). The words echo with a universal theme, a yearning for the knowledge of God's ways to permeate the earth and His saving power to be manifest among all the nations of the world. It is a prayer not only for personal blessings but for a broader, redemptive impact on a global scale. It’s a prayer for knowledge.
As I bow my head in prayer, I pray these verses, weaving them through the tapestry of my supplications for the prodigal. "Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You" (67:3)! I pray not only for knowledge on the part of the prodigal, but I also praise God for what He is going to do—what ONLY He can do! The repetition in verse 3 serves as a reinforcing of the plea for knowledge as well as adoration and acknowledgment of the Almighty God’s ability to give that knowledge to the prodigal.
The psalmist's words paint a vivid picture of joy and gladness in verse 4: "Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You judge the peoples with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Selah" (67:4). The prodigal, in their waywardness, stands in the need of the transformative knowledge of God and His equitable judgment. My prayer is not only for the return of the prodigal, but also for a transformation brought about as only God can do that brings joy and gladness to their soul. Lastly, in the tapestry of faith, the psalmist weaves the promise of abundance: "The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear Him" (67:66-7)! This is the crescendo of the prayer – a declaration of confidence in the divine promise of blessing, not just for the prodigal but for all the ends of the earth. It is a call for awe and reverence, a recognition of the omnipotent hand of our God at work as only He can do. Beside Psalm 67:2, as I pray over the prodigal, I am reminded that the power of intercession and prayer for knowledge extends far beyond personal petitions. It is a prayer for the prodigal, the nations, and the ends of the earth – a prayer that God and His saving power may be known. Heavenly Father,
As you pray for your prodigal’s return, are you also asking God to reveal Himself so personally and powerfully to them that true knowledge of Him transforms their heart forever?

Amen, truly, Michele!! His graciousness is such a beautiful reminder of who He is—kind, patient, and always extending mercy far beyond what we deserve. It gives us such hope as we pray for our prodigals, knowing His heart is always leaning toward restoration. So grateful we get to rest in that truth together!
