This journey is rooted in the rhythm of Prayer, Praise, and Promise—a reminder that God is our refuge, our joy, and the faithful Keeper of every soul. As we lift our prodigals before Him, we also allow His Word to strengthen our hearts in the waiting.
Your prayers matter, friend. Your faith is not in vain. The Father still calls His children by name, and His arms remain open. I hope you'll also join us over in the private Prodigal Prayers Facebook group and walk this journey with others who believe in the power of prayer. Let’s begin again today—trusting God together. A Prayer for Treasures
This week, we are going to dive into Isaiah 1-3, a place where my heart resonates with thoughts of prodigals—those who, like us all at some point, rebel against God. We will also be looking at Matthew 6 and Luke 12.
Isaiah 1:2-3 portrays the heartbreaking image of children who don't recognize their loving parent. In the face of rebellion, the Lord calls for cleansing: "Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean" (Isaiah 1:16). This verse is a poignant call to turn away from evil and embrace justice. Isaiah 1:16-18 offers a ray of hope, inviting reconciliation. "Come now, let us reason together," says the Lord (Isaiah 1:18). Here, we see promise emerge—the transformation of scarlet sins into snow-white purity, from crimson to wool. Chapter 2 emphasizes the humbling of human pride, a declaration that "the Lord alone will be exalted" (Isaiah 2:11, 17). These verses offer reminders that temporal treasures, like silver and gold, can't compare to the eternal worth of God's exaltation. Chapter 3 paints a vivid picture of the fleeting nature of worldly adornments. In that day, the Lord strips away human embellishments, revealing the transience of material wealth. This echoes Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6 and Luke 12, urging us to store treasures in Heaven, where our hearts truly belong. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, BUT lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:19-20
In Luke 12:22-34, where Jesus talks to His disciples about anxiety, He reminds them that, "…where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Luke 12:34).
In all of these passages, Isaiah 1-3, Matthew 6, and Luke 12, God's call to the prodigal echoes throughout the ages—seek cleansing, forsake pride, and recognize where the true treasure lies. This week, let’s pray for treasures in Heaven—true, eternal treasure. Let us, as intercessors for the prodigal, lift up our prayers for those who have strayed, that they may hear God's call and return to Him. This week, let’s pray that they:
May the temporal allure of this world pale in comparison for the prodigal, and for ourselves as well, to the everlasting glory of God's presence and treasures laid up in His Kingdom. Heavenly Father,
If the things we treasure reveal where our hearts truly are, what might the lives of our prodigals—and even our own—show about whether our hearts are set on earthly things or on the eternal treasures of God’s Kingdom?

So grateful you shared this, Michele!! What a beautiful testimony of God’s mercy and pursuit. He truly is the Good Shepherd who goes after us even in our most rebellious seasons—and brings us back with such grace. I KNOW! And your story as well, I'm sure, is a powerful reminder that no season is wasted in His hands. Thank you for the encouraging comment—it gives so much hope to those still praying and waiting for their prodigals to come home. You are a blessing!
