If you’re here, it’s likely because you love someone who has wandered—or because your own heart knows what it feels like to wait, hope, and pray through the ache of distance. You’ve prayed. You’ve wept. You’ve waited. And today, once again, you are choosing to press in.

In 2026, we are walking this road together.

Each Tuesday, we gather here to work through Prodigal Prayers: 52 Weeks of Praying Over the Prodigal—one week at a time, one Scripture, one prayer, one promise.

There is no rushing here and no falling behind. Come when you can. Stay as long as you need. This is a place for steady faith, honest prayers, and hope that is anchored in our faithful God and refuses to give up.

This journey is rooted in the rhythm of Prayer, Praise, and Promise—a reminder that God is our refuge, our joy, and the faithful Keeper of every soul. As we lift our prodigals before Him, we also allow His Word to strengthen our hearts in the waiting.

Your prayers matter, friend. Your faith is not in vain. The Father still calls His children by name, and His arms remain open.

A Prayer for Wisdom

In the tapestry of human interactions, the words of King Solomon from Ecclesiastes 7 weave a timeless thread of wisdom, reminding us not to listen to voices that don’t matter.

"Do not take to heart all the things that people say…." Ecclesiastes 7:21a

As we reflect on this counsel, our minds journey to a poignant moment in history—the scene of Jesus standing before His accusers.

In that pivotal moment, Jesus transcended the self-centered concerns that typically accompany accusations. His focus was not on His personal vindication, but rather, His focus was eternal, extending to the lost, the broken, and the prodigals in need of redemption.

In that pivotal moment, Jesus thought of the sheep without a Shepherd, the women waiting at the well for a life-altering encounter, and the prodigal running from his father’s love. Jesus embodied a profound resilience that disregarded the sting of harsh words and fixed His gaze on the greater purpose—calling the wandering hearts back home again.

This week, let’s remember that the empty tomb stands as an eternal testimony to the victory achieved on the cross. The price for redemption, paid in full once and for all, radiates with glory when viewed through the lens of the resurrection. The wisdom encapsulated in Solomon's ancient words echoes through time, urging us to resist the temptation to let the words of others define our purpose or dictate our emotional state.

How often do we allow fleeting remarks or perceived judgments to cast shadows on our joy?
How frequently do we internalize imagined thoughts, letting them shape our narrative?

Solomon's counsel remains a timeless beacon, guiding us to navigate the turbulent waters of human communication with grace and resilience. When confronted with negativity or criticism, let us remember the empty tomb, drawing strength from the ultimate victory that transcends the transient whispers of the world. Those whispers do not define us or the prodigal.

This week, as we pray over the prodigal, let’s allow the words of King Solomon, from Ecclesiastes 7:21a, be a steadfast reminder: "Do not take to heart all the things that people say…."

Let’s embrace the freedom found in Solomon’s wisdom and the knowledge that our identity and purpose, and the prodigal’s identity and purpose, are anchored firmly in the unfailing love of the One who conquered the grave. Let’s pray for wisdom. Let’s listen to the voice of the Shepherd. Let’s embrace biblical truth. Let’s cling to the unfailing love of God as He does His good work in our lives and in the lives of the prodigals. "…I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

Heavenly Father,

As I come before You in prayer, I lift up the prodigal, knowing that I too am in need of Your wisdom and guidance. As I meditate on Ecclesiastes 7:21a, I find solace in the timeless wisdom of King Solomon, reminding me not to take to heart all the things that people say.

Lord, in a world filled with noise and opinions, help me to discern Your voice above all others. Grant me the wisdom to filter out the distractions and negativity that seek to derail me from Your purpose for my life. May I find strength and resilience in Your truth, unaffected by the fleeting remarks or judgments of others.

Just as Jesus stood firm in the face of accusations, His focus fixed on the greater purpose of redemption, may I also fix my gaze on You. Help me to see beyond the momentary challenges and to embrace the eternal victory achieved through the cross and resurrection.

Lord, I pray for wisdom to navigate the turbulent waters of human communication with grace and resilience. May I find freedom in knowing that my identity and purpose are anchored firmly in Your unfailing love. Help me to listen to Your voice, the voice of the Shepherd, and to embrace biblical truth as I journey towards restoration and wholeness of the prodigal.

As I intercede for the prodigal, I trust in Your promise that the good work You have begun in them will be brought to completion. May Your wisdom guide their steps, leading them back into Your loving arms.
