3 Biblical Responses to Waiting (Part 2)

11/28/2025

#Discover three #biblical responses to #waiting--Stand Still, Sit Still, and Be Still--and how each offers #wisdom, #peace, and #direction during life’s hardest delays. This #encouraging #Christian #devotional explores #Exodus 14, Ruth 3, and #Psalm 46, revealing how #God strengthens #faith, calms worry, and deepens #trust as we wait on Him. Find #hope, #purpose, and practical #guidance for #navigating every season of waiting with confidence in God’s #sovereignty and unfailing care. #BibleStudy
Last month, we began looking at this inevitable aspect of life – waiting! No one can avoid it, and very few can make it go faster. There is always something to wait for in life. Knowing that waiting is part of life can be frustrating while we sit in the doctor’s waiting room, the DMV line, or the line at the grocery store.

Maybe your waiting is for something much more important, like waiting for a loved one to trust Christ or for the Lord to answer a prayer request that you have prayed for years. Maybe you are waiting for a child to come back to Christ or for the results of a scary medical test. Maybe you are waiting for Christmas to come, or for a change in job, or a move that is on the horizon.

I could go on and on naming things we are waiting for because these scenarios are part of every aspect of our lives.

Sweeter Than Honey: Peter's Prayer for Boldness

11/25/2025

#Explore Peter’s bold #prayer in #Acts 4 as the early #church faced #persecution and #miraculous growth. This #devotional highlights #God’s #sovereignty, the power of unified prayer, and the #courage #believers can find through the #HolySpirit. #Learn how to #pray for #boldness, stand firm in #faith, and #trust God’s #purpose in every challenge. A #powerful reflection for anyone seeking #spiritual strength, #encouragement, and a deeper understanding of #Scripture. #BibleStudy #WomenoftheWord
What if we spent a few quiet moments with God each morning? What if we were intentional about making time for it? And what if we committed to doing that all year long—only to find that by the end of the year, we had read the entirety of God’s Word—His love letter to us?

How many times have you, on January 1, resolved to read the Bible from cover to cover in a year? I’ve made that commitment more times than I can count—and I’ve failed more times than I’d like to admit. But a few years ago, I tried something different. I used a one-year, chronological order of book authorship Bible Reading Itinerary.

Did you know that Genesis wasn’t the first book of the Bible written? While these plans can vary—since it’s impossible to pinpoint exact dates for some books—the plan I used began with the book of Job.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16–17
There is no book like the Bible. It is not merely a collection of stories, poems, or historical accounts. It is the very breath of God on the page. When Paul wrote these words to Timothy, he anchored the young pastor—and us—in one unshakable truth: Scripture comes from God Himself, and because of that, it is completely sufficient for every part of the Christian life.

This passage gives us both the source of Scripture and its purpose. Let’s look at both.

“Preach the Word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”
2 Timothy 4:2
The Apostle Paul’s charge to Timothy is not just for pastors and preachers, but for all who follow Jesus Christ.

This verse reminds us that the Word of God is not something to be shared only when it is convenient, but at all times—whether the moment feels right or not.

Our call, as Christians, is to faithfully declare God’s truth in every season of life.

So how are we to be ready in season and out of season? Let's explore that today.

Greater is the Giver

#Discover the #true heart of #gratitude in Greater Is the Giver. This #inspiring #devotional reminds #readers that #God’s goodness isn’t defined by His #gifts but by His unchanging #character. Reflect on Job’s #faith and Paul’s #contentment as you #learn to #worship the Giver above the #gifts. Perfect for #Thanksgiving or any #season of gratitude, this post #encourages #believers to find lasting #joy in God Himself--the source of every #blessing. #ChristianLiving #Faith #Thanksgiving #Devotional
In just a few short weeks, families and friends will gather, food will be shared, football and parades will be viewed, and hopefully, thanks will be given. Like many families, I can long recall the tradition of going around the table while each person shares what he or she is thankful for that year. For most of us, our gratitude will be directed toward the many blessings in our lives — family, friends, resources, experiences, etc. It is good and right that we acknowledge and show gratitude for the many gifts that God gives us. But how many of us will simply say we are thankful for God?

God is far more glorious than any of His gifts. And while it would be wrong not to lift up these good gifts in praise, I think we can miss the mark of true gratitude when our thanks for the gift doesn’t lead us to the real prize — worship and adoration of the Giver.
