God’s plans will NOT be overthrown, friend! What an incredible reminder from Acts 5-8! Despite opposition, imprisonment, and threats, Peter and the apostles boldly proclaimed the name of #Jesus. The same men who #prayed for boldness in Acts 4 are now filling #Jerusalem with the #truth of #Christ in Acts 5, even in the face of tremendous danger and threats! Peter’s response to the opposition is #powerful: “We must obey #God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). #BoldFaith #FaithOverFear #TrustHisPlan

What if we spent a few quiet moments with God each morning? What if we were intentional about making time for it? And what if we committed to doing that all year long, only to find that by the end of the year, we had read the entirety of God's Word—His Love Letter to us?

How many times have you, on January 1, resolved to read the Bible from cover to cover in a year? I’ve made that commitment more times than I can count, and I’ve failed more times than I’d like to admit. But a few years ago, I tried something different—I used a one-year, chronological order of book authorship, Bible Reading Itinerary. Did you know that Genesis wasn’t the first book of the Bible written? While these plans can vary, since it's impossible to pinpoint exact dates for some books, the plan I used began with the book of Job. Let me introduce you to Sweeter Than Honey, a book patterned after that Bible Reading Itinerary.

Paul tells us in 1 Thess. 5:18, “In every thing #givethanks: for this is the will of #God in #Christ #Jesus concerning you.” Easy to #read--tough to live out, right? Dive into what it means to be #grateful in every #season, even when life gets complicated. Through real-life challenges, explore how #thankfulness can go beyond circumstances finding a foundation in God’s will. If you’re navigating #trials--big or small--this one’s for you! Embracing #gratitude--no matter what’s going on around you.

It’s that time of year! Has your social media feed been filled with people talking about what they are thankful for? It is a good practice to purposefully be thankful! I am often reminded, especially at this time of year, just how important this attitude of thanksgiving really is for us as Christians. 1 Thessalonians 5 includes a series of commands that Paul uses to admonish the believers in the church at Thessalonica. There are some “famous” commands in this passage such as “See that none render evil for evil” (5:15), or “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing” (5:16-17). Remember the command to “Quench not the Spirit” (5:19), or what about “Abstain from all appearance of evil” (5:22)? Nestled right in the middle of these familiar commands is a simple one that I purposely skipped over that ties into that one about constantly being in an attitude of prayer. It is a simple statement, but it takes a lot to obey it.
