1. Faith is the Foundation of Hope
Faith gives birth to hope. Without faith, there can be no confident expectation of the future. Hebrews 11:1 captures this so beautifully: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
2. Hope Fuels Perseverance in Faith Hope gives us as believers the strength to keep on trusting in God’s plan—especially during times of trials and seasons of difficulty. Romans 8:24-25 says it beautifully: “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”
3. Faith Anchors Hope in Christ Hope is not wishful thinking but confident expectation, and it is firmly anchored in faith in Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:27 calls this “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
4. Hope Strengthens Faith During Doubt When doubts arise (and they will), hope helps faith hold firm. Hope reminds us of God’s faithfulness in the past, giving us confidence to trust Him even more in the present and in the future.
5. Both Are Rooted in God’s Word Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17), and hope is nurtured by meditating on His promises. Romans 15:4 tells us: “For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”
Faith and hope are inseparably linked. Faith trusts in who God is and what He has done. Hope confidently expects God to fulfill His promises. Together, they empower Christians to navigate life with assurance, courage, and joy, knowing that God is faithful. This partnership is beautifully captured in Hebrews 6:19: “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Amen, Maryleigh!! :) Confident expectation changes everything, doesn't it?! It’s not just wishful thinking—it’s a deep, deep trust in our good Father who always keeps His promises. So grateful for His faithfulness! Keep walking in that confident hope!

I, too, love that expressian "confident" hope. It does closely align with faith, which is being confident in what you do not see.

Amen, Jerralea! Confident hope is such a powerful expression of faith! Hebrews 11:1 reminds us that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. What a beautiful truth that we can stand firm on God's promises, knowing they are unshakable! Thank you for sharing your confidence in Him!
